Elderberry Syrup
Made with elderberries harvested in Tkaronto Treaty #13 Anishinaabae / Haudenosaunee Territory. Fresh spring wate, rose, ginger harvested in Elmastukwek, Ktaqmkuk, and honey from Tuckaway Farm in Katalisk, Ktaqmkuk 🍯🌹
Dark purple Elderberries have a particular affinity for the respiratory system, and are rich in anthocyanins and other polyphenols with antioxidant properties, as well as vitamin c. Elderberry has a long history of use during cold and flu season and is my go to for help with a cold or to kick one early.
Note these are different than red Elderberries that are native to Ktaqmkuk, but I do see some people cultivating dark purple / black Elderberry here!
